    Recommended posting format?

Sometimes the lack of the information being posted is problematic in it's own right.

Would be helpful if we had a sticky post in each forum with a recommended posting format / template to follow?

    Description of the fault:

Troubleshooting and work carried out so far:

Attached print sample (scanned) or photograph:

    (Technicians) Attached logging data:
    (Example 5990-004 / P-Print / SIM 22-06 etc)

    Primarily we are looking for...
    Jam and error code history

    Current firmware versions
    Current part yields

    Re: Recommended posting format?

It's a great idea ... and probably will never happen.

When I was gathering similar information for a troubleshooting database, very often most of those blanks were left empty. I could use about 1/3 of the forms as is, about 1/3 with a conversation with the sender, and the last 1/3 I could make no sense of whatsoever, conversation or not. Some of these senders could not even figure out the "Sender" line.

It makes far too much sense. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          What a good idea lol.

Would of probably been better in feedback and suggestions though. (I never saw it, maybe the admin didn't either).
