Given the nature of the forum there are often threads where the last word in the title is 'print'. This results in the thread being displayed in a print friendly view that can't be replied to. Can this feature be turned off? Hoping Aneurysm can provide an answer.
Disable print view?

Re: Disable print view?
printing - printed work instead of just "print"
MOST users that check their PM's will comply with my PM. -

This is an old 'glitch'. Sure it's annoying but I would think if it was easy fix Aneurysm would take care long time ago.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Re: Disable print view?
I know this is an old thread, but I found a fairly easy solution to this, my apologies if this has been posted already.
Just remove '-print' from the url.
It worked for the thread I was looking at, seems to show the same thread without the print view.
ie. https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/r...opy-print.html
change it to
and that seemed to fix it.Comment

Hey! Good to know. Thanks.
It worked for me, Thanks. =^..^=Last edited by blackcat4866; 10-07-2020, 12:15 AM.If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Disable print view?
I tried that with this thread and it doesn't seem to work.

Re: Disable print view?
Interesting, so it seems to only work on threads where the URL ends in -print but if the title itself ends in print then it won't work...
I'll see if I can get a work around that.
EDIT: can't seem to find a way to work around the print version however if you want to reply to a post on one of these threads I've discovered you can type this in
where the t=xxxxxx is the number at the start of the url you are trying to view (for example this thread would be 146356)
You can try for yourself, try clicking that link and see if it lets you reply to the link you posted above.
Seems like an awfully long workaround but hey at least its something.Last edited by ThePomqueteer; 10-07-2020, 01:33 PM.Comment

Now, how in the heck am I going to remember this with CRS!?
I guess I could just come back to this thread and copy/paste using the correct post # in the URL.Started in the copier service business in the fall of 1988 and worked at the same company for 33.5 years, becoming the senior tech in 2004 but left to pursue another career on 4/29/22.Comment

Re: Disable print view?
Ha-ha should be "sticky" thread or we will quickly forget it. I was just searching for a thread that I posted month ago to add my solution, didn't go well can't find it 10 minutes.A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Re: Disable print view?
Provided we don't get hacked causing Aneurysm to have to reload everything which can sometime wipe out individual history, you can always go to "My Profile" - "My Activity" It give you the thread, the forum and the first line of what you posted. The right hand column even shows how long ago you posted it. If it is back a ways you may have to click "More Activity" at the bottom of the page a few times.Comment

Then everything would become sticky and we would be in the same mess.

Re: Disable print view?
Am I correct in concluding that it is not a fault of the forum itself, but its a function of the web browser that I'm using?

Re: Disable print view?
From what has been suggested I get the impression it is more a matter of how the forum software interprets what the web browser sends to it. I have known for a couple of years that there was a work around because I have seen replies to such posts. Until now I did not know what that work around was. It is the software that the forum runs and not the forum itself. Other forums that use the same software issue.Comment
