    Disable print view?

Given the nature of the forum there are often threads where the last word in the title is 'print'. This results in the thread being displayed in a print friendly view that can't be replied to. Can this feature be turned off? Hoping Aneurysm can provide an answer.

In these cases.. I simply PM that user, inform them of the 'glitch' in the CTN software and request them to "repost" the issue again W/O the word Print as the final word in the title...

printing - printed work instead of just "print"

MOST users that check their PM's will comply with my PM.

This is an old 'glitch'. Sure it's annoying but I would think if it was easy fix Aneurysm would take care long time ago.

I know this is an old thread, but I found a fairly easy solution to this, my apologies if this has been posted already.

Just remove '-print' from the url.

It worked for the thread I was looking at, seems to show the same thread without the print view.

        ie. https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/r...opy-print.html

        change it to

and that seemed to fix it.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I tried that with this thread and it doesn't seem to work.

Fax received ok but will not print

Tried same thread also plus one another, both didn't appear to workaround. Would check them later on PC(not phone).

I tried the one I posted from a PC and it didn't work, FWIW.

                  Re: Disable print view?

Interesting, so it seems to only work on threads where the URL ends in -print but if the title itself ends in print then it won't work...

I'll see if I can get a work around that.

EDIT: can't seem to find a way to work around the print version however if you want to reply to a post on one of these threads I've discovered you can type this in

where the t=xxxxxx is the number at the start of the url you are trying to view (for example this thread would be 146356)

You can try for yourself, try clicking that link and see if it lets you reply to the link you posted above.

Seems like an awfully long workaround but hey at least its something.

Well, I'll be darned. That works and like you said, at least it's something. Still might be easier to just PM the OP and have them start a new thread. On the other hand, one could use this hack to reply to the thread ending in "print" and let them know to post another thread.

Now, how in the heck am I going to remember this with CRS!?

I guess I could just come back to this thread and copy/paste using the correct post # in the URL.

Ha-ha should be "sticky" thread or we will quickly forget it. I was just searching for a thread that I posted month ago to add my solution, didn't go well can't find it 10 minutes.

Then everything would become sticky and we would be in the same mess.

Provided we don't get hacked causing Aneurysm to have to reload everything which can sometime wipe out individual history, you can always go to "My Profile" - "My Activity" It give you the thread, the forum and the first line of what you posted. The right hand column even shows how long ago you posted it. If it is back a ways you may have to click "More Activity" at the bottom of the page a few times.

Thanks slim for reminding me this. I know most of forum function and features but this time was stubborn as a donkey to find my thread in KM forum browsing hopefully last 20 pages.

From what has been suggested I get the impression it is more a matter of how the forum software interprets what the web browser sends to it. I have known for a couple of years that there was a work around because I have seen replies to such posts. Until now I did not know what that work around was. It is the software that the forum runs and not the forum itself. Other forums that use the same software issue.
