the new logo made me think i was on the waybackmachine requesting a snapshot from 2001
I think that's on purpose
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
When was the post first created? If during the time from when the a backup was created and the time that the transition was completed, it no longer exists.
problem is that search within the forum seems to be broken to. for example (let's try something very specific) adriansto mentioned security bulletin 1393894 in this post. searching for 1393894 returns nothing (at least for me).
Good thing is that for years on old forum I haven't been able for at least 3 years to recover my password/create new accounts (I wasn't receiving emails or they weren't being sent) but since the migration to the new forum I get them and could recover my old account
It seems like I can only access old posts by navigating through the forum manually? Searching just doesn't work at all. Google can find posts that I'm looking for but I just get the page doesn't exist error every time. I feel like I'm missing something that others already know about
I assume the issue with dead links is an unintended consequence of the migration and will be resolved eventually.
But if it can't be resolved then that would be very unfortunate as A LOT of old knowledge that you honestly can't find elsewhere will be lost.
Not literally lost, but effectively since finding the thread manually is arduous work.

It seems it does have to do with the migration. I have trued to search a couple of posts created since the migration and they work just fine. On the other hand if you search a post that was started before the start of the migration it will nit be found even if someone has replied to it after the migration was complete. And of course everything posted during the migration, about a 5 day period is lost, just like the administrator warned about.
I can see one major advantage to the problem. It will definitely reduce what I call grave robbers, those that use search and find posts from years ago that should be dead and buried.
Just for the hell of it I tried https://www.copytechnet.com/node/176400 which brought up PDF scan version in PDF scan version komica minolta from 10-19-2023. Anyone who wants can try other numbers to see what you get.
Doktor, the canon post you are looking for will most likely have a node number that is less than 176449. If you know the approximate date you can use the date and node number above for the KM PDF scan version as a reference as to where to start.
