Is there or can there be a point system with ratings shown as we had in the last site?

Maybe that may help, see reply by Wayne Luke in post 6 of this thread:
This is the way I have my ranks configured for users But, I can notice with me and with other users, that the ranks are not being granted automatically when reaching what is established in the configuration of each of them. Please look at the image and let me know what I am doing wrong, to solve the problem thanks in advanceA tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. See Aneurysm's post number 58 in Migration is complete05-23-2024, 12:37 PM
The old thank and like buttons were a 3rd party modification that didn't have a lot of back-end functionality, the new reaction options feed into the user reputation system so positive things like a thumbs-up, smile, or cups of coffee would be a plus, while green barf and thumbs down might be a minus. The reputation system is currently turned off because it was a complete mess on the old data is way out of whack but we'll eventually get the data reset and re-deployed the system. it's a medium priority so give us a month or figure it out.
For example, In the old system, one negative reaction toward a new user from a seasoned user carried so much weight that the new user would be so far in the negative that they'd never recover. As an Admin I could affect a score by 100 points but a user like blackcat4866, due to registration date and post count could swing a score by 2,000+ points. it made sense on paper but lacked actual usefulness so it was hidden for the past few years. I think the new system will work better and not generate as many messages asking me why the red bar under their username never changed.👍 1Comment
