Hey, how did I miss this? But I can now hover over the thumbs up icon and it will show the name of the person who gave it. When did this happen?

I believe that it is a feature of the new vBulletin software. You cab also set to get email notifications when someone reacts to one of your posts.

Yes it was like that since we moved.

I think there was an issue where it didn't work with a particular browser but a lot was going on back then, all seems good now,

Most likely you are looking at the list of all of your messages I'd guess. You can't reply from there, at least that I can find. It seems that the messages act more like the regular forums now. You need to click the subject line of the message you want to reply to, which will open up just that message (conversation?) by itself. There will then be a reply box under the message, like what is seen in the forums.

My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...

I'm very very experienced user of forums(bulletin boards). With number of posts and PMs. However I have zero experience with FB, Messenger etc.
After we migrated to new bulletin board style I have awkward feelings with private messages. They look awful and not intuitive at all to me almost like I miss the point with them.
Perhaps it's just "modern" design confusing us old dogs.
It's loooong shot so please excuse me if I have wrong perception.
