Thank you for all the help!

    Hey

sadly the company that i work for currently told me that they are not able to afford another full time employee and so my contract here ends on 31/01/2024 (More precisely 19/01/2024 when i finish my apprenticeship. I will then go work in a supermarket before joining the Bundeswehr (Unless i find another Company in the next 3 Months where i can work in IT/Copier Business) in April 2024.
Just wanted to say thank you here for all the knowledge you shared with me, i honestly, apart from the very basics, learned most of what i know here and i am thankfull for all the support, friendly and not so friendly people here. You really all helped me a lot learning about copiers and printers.

    Wish you all the best!
    ^techsxge

PS: As i will most likely continue copiers and IT as a hobby anyways, i will visit this site from time to time anyways

It so sad to hear that from young and clearly gifted tech. World crisis is cutting positions everywhere but you are young and open minded and I think you will find new job easy.
I wish you best of luck in your new endeavours!

Sorry to hear that. Sucks starting new year out that way. Not sure of your location but if in USA you would easily be able to find a technicians job, especiallysince you already have experience. Most every company I know is always looking for experienced techs. Because of technician shortage most companies are hiring IT people and "trying" to make them copier techs. Problem is most IT people don't want to work on copiers they just want to sit at a work station all day!

Best of luck with what ever direction you go in.

I was thinking like a year ago i could move to the usa but that ship has sailed away due to fortunate and unfortunate changes in my personal life.
        I live in germany though.

The issue is not a finding work itself. But when i finish my apprenticeship i will have to leave my parents house which means i need to earn a certain wage to be able to afford life. Sadly the only offer i currently have on hand is not ideal for me to reach and pays minimum wage while i would earn about 1.5x more if i just go and work in the local supermarket / store. And i am tired of working minimum wage while being out of thehouse 11-12 hours a day rn.

Perhaps the labor market in Germany is quite different from the US, but I have never had difficulty finding another copier dealer seeking a technician.

Sorry that events did not go as you wanted. I am encouraged that you have a plan for what to do next.

Have you spoken to any other technicians in Europe, that may be able to get a lead on employment? I know that Hans is in Germany. I wish you success. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

As i mentioned in another post, i sadly can not move due to "problems" in my personal "area". Around Hamburg would be acceptable for me but Hans for example is located in bavaria if i remember correctly.

Another big issue is thati would have to buy myself an apartment, food and such and that is quite hard to get alone with minimum wage which most companies are only willing to pay rn

Am I reading this correctly? You make more working for supermarket than being a tech? That's shocking to me. Anyway, best of luck no matter what you decide to do. Things usually happen as they should. Life has a way of working out. Cheers.

Yup, some stores you can work for 30 hours and earn more than a 40h/week tech if he is paid minimal wage. The companies who pay more than minimum wage are not looking for more employees BC they have enough people what I have been told so far.

I totally hate the way things went down so far as I have enjoyed this mix between complicated and simple copier problems and the IT world. I knew from the start that I don't want to sit behind a desk 24/7 so it was like the perfect job for me but if I can't pay my bills with this I have to drop it even if I don't have it.
I would probably be able to settle with like 300-500€ more than minimum wage but most I got out of a company I applied to was 150€ which would only be able to cover a 2 room apartment and basic needs. No way of saving much and with the rising prices here I don't even know if I would be able to afford everything a year later.
We have state-financing for the people who are jobless and it would currently be more attractive to take that and not work than to be a tech at the companies I applied to so far.

You've got a couple of weeks. No harm in posting in the Employment forum. https://www.copytechnet.com/forums/employment/

It's called union wage. All major grocery chains have unions. Independent copier dealers don't.

You seem to have a better understanding of tech than some members here, as proven in Sales Service Guys post about hacking copiers.

                      You will be missed.
