Mine is now a little slow. I wonder if the March Madness is affecting the internet. Women's round of 16 has a games in progress right now. Could be a lot of people watching that game online.

        Re: 504 Gateway time out

Well, it's now 12:29am Central Daylight Time here in the US. Saturday morning where I'm at, and it's still super slow.

Traceroute shows that there isn't any response issues along the way to the copytechnet server, so perhaps there is an issue with the server itself being bogged down by something.
The timeouts are normal as not all servers in the chain will respond to a traceroute request.

I wonder if Charter/Spectrum has a problem with one or more of their internet switches. They have been doing a lot of "improvements" in their cable service lately. I still get the same outage problems I have had for years. I don't know about your area but here they have been promising fiber for years, since before the pandemic

One other thing I noticed, CTN is hosted by QuadraNet Enterprises LLC and is on one of their server locations in Los Angeles, CA. The Zip code puts them within, by my estimate, 2 to 4 miles from Crypto.com Arena where the NCAA Western Regional portion of the Elite Eight is taking place.

Also since aneurysm is located in the New York area, I wonder if he is also having trouble getting in as well.

I'm getting roughly the same result this morning. I can talk to the server at 173.254.238.186 but nginx can't deliver the website without a 504 gateway timeout. I'm guessing CTN is using nginx as a HTTP proxy to either another port on the same server or another server? Load balancer maybe? If it was network issues I would think I wouldn't be able to ping it without having any lost pings.

Surprisingly, I have very few problems with Charter/Spectrum at home. On the contrary, I also know multiple people within a few miles of me that have nothing but problems with them. They are knowledgeable enough about networks and how to set things up properly to be able to troubleshoot and confirm that it is in fact a Spectrum issue. I'm very thankful that I don't have the same issue that they do.

In my area there has been no mention at all about fiber from Spectrum, but that may be because there is another company running fiber across a huge area around here. They are using funding through the rural broadband grants or whatever they are called.

nginx is not a specific proxy provider. It is a software portion of a gateway used by Autodesk, Atlassian, Intuit, T-Mobile, GitLab, DuckDuckGo, Microsoft, IBM, Google, Adobe, Salesforce, VMWare, Xerox, LinkedIn, Cisco, Facebook, Target, Citrix Systems, Twitter, Apple, Intel, and many more. It is niot the source of the problem, it is the reporter of the problem.

CTN is hosted by one of QuadraNet Enterprises LLC two main servers in downtown Los Angeles. The NCAA Western Division tournament was the last four days in downtown Los Angeles. There were a multitude of sports reporters covering that tournement in downtown Los Angeles all trying to submit reports to their home offices. Thei morning they are all online submitting final reports and making arraingments to get the hell out of downtown Los Angeles and get to Glendale, Arizona to cover the Final Four.

I like your Nginx comment about it not being the source but reporter of the problem, too bad I can't figure out what the problem is. It's been going on since last night so I have a ticket open with support a hopefully they can figure out what's going on.

Seems the immediate crisis may be over...

For the last couple hours I tried, I could only access the thread with a reply long enough to read it but not reply before the 504 Code appeared once again.

It seems now things have smoothed out and access to board is as it should be.

It seems to be loading quickly enough now. One thing though, Firefox continues to indicate that it is trying to loads additional information. The items it shows that it is trying to load are connect.facebook.net and affiliate.lunarpages.com

From what I have been able to find so far is that connect.facebook.net is Facebook's Java script support. The other has to do small business hosting from Lunarpages.

From what I have been able to find so far is that connect.facebook.net is Facebook's Java script support. The other has to do small business hosting from Lunarpages.
Apparently they had to do with some ad pusher. I had Adblock Plus disabled for CTN. Enabling it cleared the problem. Still as pushers should not be causing delays in pages finishing loading/
