    I've seen a few, but no idea how they worked.

    A customer would drag one of these things out of the closet and ask me how it worked. I sure don't know. It's no technology I've ever seen. =^..^=
    If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            I'm old enough to remember working on the pressure fusing machines. No heat. Just two big shiny rollers and lots of pressure. Made the copies look like magazines.

                You know what this was a great process, standard 80gsm paper end result glossy! Those fusers never went wrong!

                Cold pressure fusing is the way forward IMO

                        The Canon NP 120/125 was like that.

                        Actually very popular with engineering firms, as the image shrank extremely little as compared to heat fusing machines.

                            On this model I remember doing the grope ... covertly feeling around for a power switch and not finding one.

                            Since there is no fuser heat, there is no initialization, no warmup. Just press Start. God help you if you get a fuser jam though. =^..^=

                                            We have more folks with 10 or less years to retirement than not.

                                            When we hire someone under 40, I always say.. "didn't think you'd be working with a bunch of old dudes, did you"?
