    Parts organizer

Does anyone have any really cool ways they have found to organize and manage car stock parts to keep what you need and know what you have in a "lean" way? We are looking to create better systems here and looking for ideas. Anyone willing to share some pictures?

I'm sure it would vary by the type of vehicle. I work predominantly on production Konica I use a full size Ram truck. I use three of those black home depot tubs. They sit perfectly on the back seat side by side and fit long rollers and drums quite comfortably. Smaller parts I have separated into 3 small boxes that kind of nest together. They are designated 1. feed rollers, 2. fuser parts 3. misc small parts 4. clutches. I am going to get a smaller tote to keep perishables like developer in to make it easier to bring inside during the heat of the summer.
When I need my truck for other duties, it's really easy to remove the totes and stash them in the garage.

I just use several boxes or plastic bins to sort parts by model. It's never perfect, though. As far as tracking my vehicle inventory, our company uses software called:

Best Copier Business software. Organize contracts, track service history, track copier meters, invoice recurring charges and manage services for efficient operation. Contact today to simplify and boost productivity. Try it today,

It tracks shop inventory as well as vehicle inventory.

For me, it's changed quite a lot over the years. When I started out it was mostly individual rollers, bearings, etc. As I got into console devices those parts got larger. In the last 15yrs a lot of parts have gone to large (and very large) PM kits, units, and assemblies, many of which just cannot be carried unless you've got some kind of a van, and even then you're limited by volume.

Most of my car organizing solutions have been very specific to the vehicle. For the first decade I had a wheeled insert that fit into the back of the Festiva, with a carpeted deck on the top. There was room for a Mita 900D on top of that deck ... and I was young enough to lift it in by myself, lol.

Conclusions? There are too many variable for me to offer you valid advice. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
