    Rexel shredder not stopping

Got a call on a Rexel shredder that when you turn on the power switch it starts running and won't stop. Even if you open the front door. Any ideas? Only markings on it shows HSM 411.2.

Sounds like the sensor for the in feed so that it thinks there is paper being inserted to be shredded and interlock switch for the door is either bad or bypassed. If the control board is bad, time for a new shredder.

sometimes is just simply cleaning the infeed sensors , however, if the sensors are faulty, you need to change them with the board....not worth it
Tip for the day; Treat every problem as your dog would.....If you cant eat it or f*ck it....then p*ss on it & walk away...

Thank you for the replies. Will check the door switch & the sensors and let the customer know.

          Re: Rexel shredder not stopping

The shredders that I have worked on have a two piece photointerrupter that detects insertion of the paper. Since paper shredding is dusty work, it's common to coat the photointerrupter parts with a layer of paper dust. With a shredder I'll turn on the machine, then take a McDonald's drinking straw blow a strong puff of air near the center (where the photointerrupter is). If perchance the drinking straw gets pulled into the shredder it won't damage anything ... it'll just get shredded. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
