Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
This is exactly what I did myself a while back, and had a hell of a time reversing the problem due (i guess) to the updated security features of seemingly all web browsers now.
The only solution I could come up with on my own, was to revert my Firefox browser back a few versions, and then I was able to log in and undo my screw up.
I don't ever use Firefox otherwise, and I've turned off auto-updating for the browser on my laptop, in case I ever make the mistake again.
Question: Any idea if there's an easier solution for this problem?

Now back to the Gmail Authentication topic....
My problem (above) was also created when trying to setup a device for testing, with my own Gmail account settings shortly after I'd enabled 2 step verification for my Google account. I'd forgotten all about it, so I was trying all sorts of different settings and Certificate installations, when I finally realized that all I needed to do was log into my google account and create a new verification code for the device, and the issue was resolved.
Maybe it's the same for you too?
Where do I create a verification code?Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
Using your current web browser try login into the MFD with the WIM using "https:" instead of "http".
You should see a locked Icon on the bottom right hand side of your web browser.
What Operating system are you using ?
What internet security software are you using ?
Is the fireware system off or on ?
You may like to post the MFD configuration page(s) to the forum.

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
You dont need an ssl cert to use a gmail account with your copier..... Clearly we have some serious misinformation here.
Set smtp to smtp.gmail.com.
Select option to use ssl.
Enable smtp authentication.
Fill out username and email field as the email address.
Enter a password.
Fill out administrator email address.
Set auto specify send to yes.
Now in your actual google account, under Sign In and Security Device Activity and Notifications, enable less secure apps. This must be done or gmail will not allow the copier tp authenticate. Done. No certs required.
As for that ssl cert you added, it hasn't been signed by an authority which is why you are getting errors. To remove the cert you need a web browser that will allow you move past this security error. On mac Safari will allow you to. On a pc firefox and Microsoft Edge browser work. Just log back in, go to Device certificate and remove it. Ta da!Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
OK, got back into the MFD, had to use internet explorer (hate it) and removed the certificates. Still cannot authenticate scanning to email. Tried it on another device at another location, nothing. Talked to a couple of IT guys and they told me that they quit using Gmail because of this issue. Too much time, I can spend it making money instead of making frustration.Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
If the machine has problems authenticating and you know you have the correct email and password try a different port. I haven't set up a Ricoh but on the newer Kyocera I have used port 587 for gmail.Comment

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
Email:
Do you have a valid working email account on gmail.com ?
If you do not then create a gmail.com email account, and then test the new gmail account works.
Do you want to use NON-Secure email (Port 25), or Secured Email SSL(Port 587,995) ?
It's easier to setup non-secure email first(port 25) and get it working on gmail. Then change over to secured/authenticated email service.
Decide which option you wish to use.
If you want a quick email echo test then send an email to "scan2email3@gmail.com"
The above service will echo a return request informing you of the send/received connection.Inauguration to the "AI cancel-culture" fraternity 1997...

Re: Ricoh MPc3502 scan to email
While I think of it , there was an old White Paper from Ricoh that showed step-by-step detail scan-to-email setup for Administrator I.T. end users.
You may like to search the Ricoh website for the latest "Scan To Email White paper".
Are you able to use packet capture software like Wireshark ?
You can use Wireshark to track where the email handshake or user authentication fails.
In your case I believe the user setting in the MFD address book might be failing authentication when sending to server.
A packet capture line segment might show : SMTP : "Client does not have permission to send as this sender."
The above Authentication error can be fixed by setting the correct User information in the MFD Address book.
Check Radio button "(o) Specifiy Other Auth Info below".
