Canon IR 3025 Won't print will ping (Port 9100 shows closed)

This copier was givin to the customer. It works fine copying. The IT guy went to get it on the network and he says that Port 9100 shows closed. He thinks that setting it back to factory defaults or "DCON Clear" might work. It will ping successfully and shows the web page. Shows "error" when trying to print to it. Any help will be very appreciated..

Is it even capable of printing? Just because it has a network port does not mean it has a print option installed. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I thought if the Ethernet was on it that the kit was installed. ? (This is what happens when the copier tech is very unfamiliar with networking... lol)

Canons of this time period came from the factory built with the desired options, and could not be added to. So for example, the outside of each of these models looks the same, but it it had a print option it got a different controller board than if it didn't. Somewhere in there you can print a list of the options installed.

Press the 123 button (counter) from that screen you can see if the kit is installed, look for anything that says "printer kit"

Yes daft Canon used to sell print as an "optional" extra laughable today!

Also if the model number IR 3025 on front panel doesn't have 'N' after at the end the kit was not installed at factory.

If port 9100 is closed, that is for RAW printing. Have they tried printing via LPR (port 515)? You can change that by configuring the Port in the Port tab of Printer Properties on Windows.

They could also try IPP as well.

Most likely that machine doesn't have PCL/PostScript installed. Try again with UFR II drivers, and see if it prints.
