gmail from coipier to scan fails

Im pulling my hair out over this.

Created a gmail account for use in situations where customer cant give me a valid email account to use for scanning.

The account is in use and working but if i try to add a new customer on same account it fails.

Try creating thier own accoount in gmail, it fails.

Less secure apps is enabled.

Anyone else having problems?

I just dont understand why the account is still working for multiple copiers but try add a new device and it just refuses to work, same model/make and settings.

anyone know a fix or can suggest a different free email service

Did you get a connection or authentification error?

Does the account work if you test it at some other site, like your workshop?

Assuming you have entered all the SMTP details correctly & the network setting, gateway, DNS etc are all correct.

What make/model is it failing on? firmware the latest?

Log into that gmail account from a PC & check to see if you have received any security warning emails, if you have choose the option 'this was me' then try another scan from the copier.

i click on the security warning in the inbox and say it was me but still fails

OK, so the SMTP server refuses the connection, pretty odd.
Any fancy port/encryption configuration needed?

Login to gmail account
Look for messages saying login blocked. Open message and click it was me

Or

Use a free SMTP2GO.COM account

i dont really like using gmail anyway but some customers seem to think they dont need IT company for support and you ask them what account they want to use for email they just look at you with derpy look. so in the past ive just used a gmail account but obviously google have changed something.

might just try a different free email provider. to hard to diagnose faults. was much easier when encryption wasnt needed

i dont think make and model are relevant as even testing from pc gives same result but im having isssssssssssssssssssue on both HP and Konica Minolta

Actually it does.

If I sent a gmail account up for a Bizhub it scans first time every time. However setting up on a Ricoh I have the log into the gmail account & click the authorisation link saying the scan was me/safe sender.

Ricoh copier using gmail smtp.gmail.com using port 587 or 465 and also found need to turn on secure connection ssl security. if you don't will say transmission fail when trying to send email. I also saw you did less secure apps which has to be done too on gmail account. I hope this helps.

Scan to email tester website????? I believe I would buy desert swampland before I ever entered anything there. That looks like a nice honeypot for collecting email adresses, usernames, and passwords under the pretense of trying to help someone get their mfp to scan to email. Seriously??!!!!
