Ricoh MPC4504 No Network Connection or can't find on the Network

Have a Ricoh MPC4504 that will print from computers fine, but when trying to scan either thru the network or directly to a single PC keep getting no network connection error. Have turned off all firewalls, tried isolating from the server and still same error. Can ping it on the network fine. Have another Ricoh MP C5503 on the same network setup the same way and works fine for scanning. Scan folders were imported and installed from the MPC5503 onto the MPC4504 and configurated the same but the C4504 won't scan to folder just always comes back to no network connection or can't find on the network. Can't browse the network. Tried formatting the HDD and reinstalling the settings again and same problem. Need suggestions on what else can be checked or set.

Try updating the firmware, this will enable SMB 2/3.

Also connect your laptop direct to the copier & set up a scan folder does that send OK ?

Yes did try with a laptop direct and same problem. So the only way to switch to SMB 2/3 is by updating firmware?

Firmware update to support SMBv2/v3 for the MP C4504 has been available for over 5 years. In fact it was one of the first models updated to support SMBv2/v3 as it was the current production and it affected sales. If your machine is not up to date there are probably multiple firmware related problems you are experiencing.

Yes as slim said it has been out for a while.

Drop us an email from either site below & we can send the latest to you.

As a quick test enable SMB v1 on your laptop & try to scan again, if it works you know that's the issue. Then turn disable it again.
