    HP jet direct NIC card

We have a potential customer that is asking if Sharp machines have hp jet direct card or equivalent. He is not the first to ask us this. I know that Sharp has a web jet admin application but does not list their NIC card as a jet direct or same as. My question is what is so special about the jet direct card and who other than HP actually use them?

Thank you for your time and effort in this matter. I look forward to your responses.

the jet direct is an HP part only. Newer HPs have it embedded in the formatter. Jet Direct is an HP name like Design jet or Desk jet.

The best you could hope for is a fortuitous combination circumstances, like a Tiger AR-M350U with a Linksys print server. When you talk about adding a print card to a typical MFP that is not standard equipped, you are talking about a grand at least. HP is the only manufacturer that made any attempt to make cross-compatible NIC systems, and they are not all cross-compatible. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you for the responses. It is pretty much what I had thought was the case but for some reason people ask that particular question and I didn't have a adequate (for me) answer.

Thank you again for your time.
