Hello Boys, I'm back! My iR3100CN is not talking to my computer.

    (Any girls out there?)

They were getting along just fine but now I am getting error message 'Limited or no connectivity'
I may have changed a setting in the copier but I haven't used if for a couple of months and I can't remember. (I can hear a collective sigh) Can I return settings to a default?

I'm on Windows XP. The copier is connected to the computer DIRECTLY through an ethernet cable. It was working fine - I'm sure I have done something.

I took the printer off and put it back on.
I have tried to fix connections with Netspot Device Installer downloaded from Canon (iR3100C) Number 27 after entering 'XP' and 'English' at the top. But frankly I don't understand what is required in the way of IP addresses etc.
I have changed the ethernet cable - just in case.

Can anyone shine any light on my dilemma?
    Kindest regards,
    Penelope

      What did you discover?
My guess is that your PC or MFP are set to DHCP, meaning that when it is turned on it is assigned a new (possibly different) IP address. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'll go with the guys acting strange part.

Hi chaps, Sorry I didn't check back after the problem was solved.
Yes, something had given me two addresses and the copier had linked to the wrong one. Easy when you know how - I guess!

As regards the girls in your game - The answer is a 'no' then!? There are always strange 'boys' about - thank goodness!

            All the best, Penelope

There are women in the industry, some are pretty good I am told. None in my shop. There are a few women in these forums as well.
