    Printing issue

    Hi all, please help.
I have printing issue from my customer.
They are air freinght company, print from their own software call LX1 to canon ir2870 show "PCL UFR ll version error".
But for other branches, they can print from canon ir 3035.
What are the posibility causes of this problem? For print base of ir2870 and ir3035 are the same?
    Thank you in advance.

    Re: Printing issue

If you have access to the other sites, then I would look at the following:

    1. Exactly how they are printing to the other machines (driver, direct PCL code)
    2. See what version drivers (if any) are being used at the other sites.
    3. If the software sends PCL directly to the machines, then see if an emulation type is being used.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

Are they printing directly to the printer or using a print driver?

Thank you for your reply. Is using print driver. We have fews unit ir2870 on the plant ,and they use certain software to print thru our machine ,only this software giving error to print out.
We have no authority to check thru the driver from the server,we only inform by their IT guy, saying that the copier cannot be used.I need info and try to persuade the IT guy to try it again.

This LX1 program is it UNIX based if so try using a generic driver or set up the driver as a ir 3035 just to see if that helps, also sound like the IT guys is being a bit hard to work with

            good luck to you.

If you can get a data capture we could tell something from that. A data capture from the problem machine and a data capture from a working one. If the IT guy can get a print-to-file of the exact same document from both drivers, the code can be compared. I think you'll find a difference, like PCL5e versus PCL6.

To confirm that it's not machine related, send the print-to-file from the working machine to the non-working machine. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thank you for your information ,i think the IT guy install the wrong driver(window base) if it LX1 is UNIX base.
