OK, I can't find it any more on KDA, but there is a small utility that runs on a CF card. Take a CF card and format it on the machine. Take it back to your PC card reader. Unzip the file I've attached and remove the outer folder so you just have a PRE folder with three files inside. Replace the existing PRE folder on the card with the resulting PRE folder that I'm attaching. Turn Off the MFP, insert the CF card, and power up. When booted up the utility will simultaneously print the job and store any docs to the API folder, until you run out of card space.

Sorry I don't remember the name of the utility, but I have a copy of the resulting folder. It works on all Wisecore machines, and probably up to present.

To everyone excepting madas: please don't send me private messages asking me to email you software.

There is a funny story about this little utility:
The FalconIII's had just come out and I was having some trouble setting up barcode fonts. My amazing tech rep showed up suggested I take a data capture. "Data capture? How?" I responded. After lots of looking we discover that the utility had not been released to the KDA website, but had been in circulation among the tech reps for quite a while. Then later that afternoon it magically appeared on KMA. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

          Two big questions:

          1) Does your printer still have a CF card slot?
          2) Is it Wisecore based?

I probably can't help with either of those, but Good Luck! =^..^=

            Hi Blackcat
The model is a FS-C5300 which I believe is wisecore and has a CF slot on the main board.
I have never done data capture so should be fun.

Re: Linux data capture from kyocera printer

Hi, Thanks for the help. I found on the printers with a menu you go to service section, drum clean, test page etc, after you have put a usb stick in and "write data: appears in the menu, press ok twice and displays "data waiting", send your print job and it writes to the stick.
this may not be the same on all the small printers or MFP's.

              thanks again
