    Scan To Desktop Ricoh C3300

    Ricoh C3300

Connected as a local printer to a work station running Windows 8. There really is not a network configuration/connection just a bunch of
workstations connected to a USB hub connected to the Ricoh C3300. All connected to internet through the same hub.

Is it possible to scan to a file folder on the desktop of the PC that is directly connected (via printer cable and through USB Hub) to the Ricoh C3300.

Connecting the printer via the printer cable the printing was plug and play and it setup automatically.

Scanning is done through ethernet only. If you want to scan to Windows 8 you will need to do FTP scanning or update the Network Support firmware to 8.33 and System/Copy to 2.01 or greater.

No we won't give you the firmware, you have to be a Ricoh qualified engineer.

Are you talking about a true USB hub where all the computers connect to the hub via USB or are you talking about a network switch/router with a USB printer port? I am figuring it is through a network router as I have never heard of a true USB hub that connects to the internet and if it did, connection would be rather crappy. If that is the case and you are using the USB printer port on the router because you do not have a free network port, spend $20 and get a 5 port work-group switch.

Plug and play configuration of the printer uses Microsoft's PCL driver which is not that good.

Yes connect it via ethernet, it is very easy. To get it scanning, don't you have an old Windows XP box laying around? You could through that on the network for a scan server, provided they are not to concerned with security, as Win XP is no longer patched/updated.
