    [CQ] Canon irADV 7055, poor black solids in the morning

    Canon irADV 7055 in the morning customer runs sky shot or tries to autograd and black solids look like a photograph of a black carpet. It's the only way I can describe it.
    Gradually through the morning, with use it clears up until CQ is perfect.
    It has been fairly cold overnight lately but not excessively so. I have replaced Black dev', Black drum, pre-trans corona assy.
    Today I cleaned and greased the the drum heater contact rings thinking this may have a bearing on drum temperature.
    Shot in the dark, awaiting call from customer tomorrow.
    Any ideas ???

      Spoke to customer today and he says it was a bit better today but still not good.
      (Actually colder last night than previously)
      I have ordered a new Primary Corona unit.
      Still looking for inspiration guys !!!

          At the left lower backside there are two Switches, which engage the Paper Cassette Heaters and the Drum Heater, are you sure, that they are enabled?
          If sometimes you feel a little useless, offended and depressed always remember that you were once the fastest and most victorious sperm of hundreds of millions!

              Does this model come equipped with timers? Maybe you can program the machine to power up at 6:00 to warm up the main body by 8:00? Naturally the energy saver would have to be set to 120 minutes.

              Do the drum heater come on if the machine falls asleep with the main power switch on? On the earlier analogs, the drum heaters do nothing until the main power switch is off. =^..^=
              If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  Cleaned out 2nd transfer roller bushings and cleaned 2nd transfer roller itself and CQ came up instantly a lot better.
                  It did drift off again quite rapidly but I think I'm on the right track now.
                  Going to order and fit 2nd trans assy and report back.

                      I have had colour dropouts from the secondary transfer assembly.

                      You can clean them and replace the roller, but it doesn't always help after a certain point.

                      It looks like they have the conductive grease on the ends of the roller so you will need to keep some of that handy every now and again.

                      Try setting your energy saver usage to high...keeps power on the fuser...might help to keep it warm.

                      What firmware are you running? could be some stupid software issue whereby having the proper energy saver modes on will cause the drum heaters to go off after a certain period of time? Wouldn't be the first time something like that happened.
