I have a machine where I am gonna replace the fuser. Right now after clearinfg the error code when the motor tries to run it makes a popping sound and machine will not cycle. I am assuming there is a limiter clutch and not a broken drive gear. Any experience dealing with fusers that have locked up causing further damage? Thanks Ray

Re: ir c3380i frozen fuser
The sensor would pop a code quick for no rotation so that is really a strange symptom. If it has close to a million you could have a fuser drive problem and those usually cause e009. the dreaded error code! You might be hearing a cracked open fuser sleeve instead? I have some of these units for sale if you need parts.I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted. -

Re: ir c3380i frozen fuser
No error. it jammed up and fuser roller is lunched. I was assuming machine or at least fuser will not turn by the looks of it(fuser). after resetting machine when it starts to cycle there is a lout popping sound. I am hoping there is a limiter clutch making noise and no drive train damage........Comment

Re: ir c3380i frozen fuser
Thanks for the help. I have repaired the machine with a new fuser. the old one was defiantly froze up but no other damage was done. However the first page or two are wrinkling up significantly. I knew this machine was doing this but I expected the fuser was the culprit but was wrong. any Ideas? I see there are one way bearings regulating the rollers on the exit side of the fuser are these the issue? thanks RayComment
