Is there a trick to doing the transfere wires on the c1 or canon in general.

I've done main/transfere wires before on sharp anologues with no problem but when i ordered the Primary/pre-transfer charging wire i received 2 spools of corona wire i was expecting 2 pre cut lengths of wire. I done the pre transfere but left the primary only changing the grid and pad holders.

I did give up with the canon wire as it was just to brittle and kept snapping when i hooked the spring on and used another corona wire instead.

Yah, Canon doesn't do the precut lengths of corona wire often. What works for me is twist a loop on the non spring side of the wire just big enough to fit the post. With spring in a captive hook tool in one hand, use the other hand to pull the wire across the unit. Now, take the open end of the spring and pull the wire through it. Hold the captive side of the spring (the one in being held by the captive spring hook) close to the spring side post. Pull the wire and spool back towards the other side until you get some seperation on each coil of the spring but do not hook the spring. Now, twist the tool about 5~7 times to get a good twist, cut the wire, reverse the spin of the tool as many times as you wound it, hook it on the post, and voila, you've strung a corona wire!!!

Sounds more difficult than it is, but I'm not in a posistion to take and post pics of the operation occurring.

    Good luck!

Practice mate! I use an allen key at the L shaped end to make my loop. Stretch your wire between your thumb and index finger, hook the key underneath and turn to get the loop. Cut the excess wire off hok the loop over one end of the corona, stretch across when you get the right length hook your spring over the wire and turn it with your humb and finger again to make a knot. Cut off excess and pull spring over to hook. Takes at least 10 times to get it right from scratch. Remember gold wire for C1/colour and analogue brown for digital.
      Good luck!!
Oh...... I can't copy at the moment then ? !!!!!!
