not sure what you mean.. " no power" is there no amber light at the connection point? have you tried to print out a settings page to see what IP address is assigned? ( 169.254.xxx.xxx ?)

    what have you tried?

Yes there is no amber light at the connection point... My machine is connected to a router with the address 172.16.0.1 and my copier is address is 172.16.0.11
It was working fine..... my machine was off for couple of days and yesterday when i wanted to print......it did not print. I checked all the cables and connection and everything seems to be ok.
until i found that there is no
amber light at the connection point.

ok sounds like the NIC card has gone south.. not sure about that model if the NIC card is built into the main board or not... does it have a USB you can use to print to it ?

It has inbuilt nic card attached to main board
Its has usb option, I tried but there is no response. Is there an option to enable from service mode. Or can I reset to factory mode

Why do you use that address? The fixed ip on copier is 172.16.1.100......stay away from that range. If its simple use 192.168.xxx.xxx Do an MMI clear, then give it a new address.

              Hi
I cleared the MMI and also gave new ip address but still its not working...
              When i ping 127.0.0.1 i get response.........
Is there any way my nic card is disabled?

Try updating the SSW, its a long shot but this is what Canon would recommend before you start replacing boards etc.

I would also try connecting a laptop directly to rule out the network/router.

I doubt that SSW would fix the issue.. the port has no indicator light on it.

That's right. This would be the first thing Canon would tell you to do. So would I. Corrupt files...who knows. Eliminate the possibility. Clear ram, etc. If still no blinking NIC card then hardware issue(main con, etc)

The easiest way to update the SSW is via the net but since your lan is dead you'll need the SST software & firmware to create a USB boot pen stick. Best to call out a tech.

Agree on the ssw wont hurt any thing and you can cross it off your list. I have had weird network issues fixed by doing an Initialize all data, this will set the machine back to factory defaults so print out a P-Print and back up any user data before doing that.

I sometimes do get Ethernet status light on router when my machine is turned on but does not connect......
when turn off the machine and turn back on Ethernet status light is gone and after an hour or so i do get the status on Ethernet port......
I too think its an software issue...........
so how do reset settings............. and if i do all data initialize do i have to backup data and how to back up my data?
