Re: Canon ir adv 8105 no power at Ethernet port
[QUOTE=amitlama_78;569263]hi
I sometimes do get Ethernet status light on router when my machine is turned on but does not connect......
when turn off the machine and turn back on Ethernet status light is gone and after an hour or so i do get the status on Ethernet port......
I too think its an software issue...........
so how do reset settings............. and if i do all data initialize do i have to backup data and how to back up my data?
you need to assign higher number to your machine if the ip address from your router is dhcp and that machine never been opened for long days other device may get the ip address so that will be happened to conflict, try using your laptop to ping the machine you only have to do is set manually put ip address static to your laptop sample ip is 192.168.1.10 then to your machine is 192.168.1.11 same static address....then ping itComment

Poster tried connecting laptop directly so has ruled out any network or IP conflict issuesLet us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

Re: Canon ir adv 8105 no power at Ethernet port
An IP conflict doesn't cause a Link to go down, the Link-led would be lit anyhow.
OP seems to be able to ping 127.0.0.1 ? So the Copier can ping itself.
I suspect a fauly port/RJ45 on the NIC, i mean, the physical connection to the network, not the NIC's electronics. His router sometimes gives a link-status, that would support the fault RJ45 connection theory..JohanComment

yes i believe the same............. because ip conflict should not cause link led to go off...........
can i repair the rj45 port.........Comment
