Canon IR 1023 adf problem

the adf feeds a blank sheet thru at different times, if I put in 10 pages I get 10 pages, some of which are blank. I replaced the adf unit, checked settings. any help would be great.

If I am to understand, there is no double feeding or jams from the adf, but there is blank pages? The CIS unit has been a issue on some of the earlier versions of this model.

there are no jams, no double feeds. If I put 20 pages in the adf I get 20 pages in the output tray.

Did machine ever produce a blank page when just one page is fed through ADF? What about single pages off the glass?

no if you single thru adf prints fine,
use the glass no problem,
print to it no problem.
Only when you multiply copy thru adf do you get a blank intermittent page.

Smells like bad adf paper sensor and occasionally scans from glass.Put something on the glass during adf copying to check.
Inspect adf connectors,ribbon cable,adf pcb......

this issue is caused by a sticky solenoid .. ive had lots of this model in the field with this problem and all resolved by replacing the solenoid
