    3245 DF jam

    Customer has an ir3245 that has the modification kit installed on the feeder as well as a new sep pad. Recently it started jamming if you put more than 1 sheet in the feeder. The second sheet will start to feed then jam. The jam codes are 0073 and 0046. I have a parts manual but don't have a service manual for this, can someone point me in the right direction.

    HOLDER SEPARATION PAD UNIT===FL3-5538-000

    The material of the separation pad for the Separation Pad Unit Holder in the Separation Reverse Guide
    has been changed to a new type.

    Jam Codes (ADF)

    0073 = Release motor HP sensor = SR11------------Release NG------The Release motor HP sensor has not turned on
    within the specified time (1 second).

    0046 = Read sensor = SR2---------First read sensor stationary---A read sensor stationary jam has occurred
    during feed of the first document

    The location of
    SR2 is to the left of the platen roller.
    Lift the Document Feeder and picture on the left below shows the platen roller.
    Push in on the platen roller and
    S2 is in the middle of the feeder behind mylars.

    check or replace DADF paper pick-up cover assembly---FM3-6891-000

      Before the technician got there the jam code was 0046, but when he started running copies the jam code has changed to 0073 every time. You said the 0073 is the release motor HP sensor, where is that located? Unfortunately, I don't have a parts feeder to test with and need to get this customer up and going soon, where would you start? We have installed the new style sep pad holder and the mod kit is installed. The SR11 sensor looks like it is located in the drive assembly along with a motor, is that the release motor? Should I replace those 2 items to start? I have little experience with this feeder
