i tried setting the pg type to 6 and then clicked ok. i figured after that i would hit the start button? and that caused it to make a normal copy from the glass. i did get it to print out a copy of all of its current settings but that was from a different menu.

after reading the registration guide the black laser lens is always set to the mid point. and is never adjusted could it have got shifted during transportation? the overall print is off the top of the page also.

Where could one obtain system disk for the fiery? would Canon still supply them or would calling EFI be a better option?

I have gotten the paper desk and the W1 finisher working. still need to clean the rollers on the finisher as papers slip past during the stapling.
and today im going to check the lasers adjustments.

Good new i have gotten my fiery up and running thanks to teckat! fixed most of my registration issues with adjusting the transfer rail adjustment lever. all of my colors are lined up except for magenta its just a hair off. Also the cleaning blade seems to not be doing a great job. and the transfer belt is questionable print quality. Im going to order a new belt and blade and see how it does. but ill just run it now and see if the belt gets better.

                        welcome

If u haven't so already, remove all drums, toners, ITB unit, slide out the fixing unit, remove ITB cleaning blade----take a flash light look at rail where the cleaning blade slides into --probably full of waste toner--best to vacuum out---if u have to hand wipe it out----before u do--place paper under area- to prevent dropping all over.

Tip:--never place the waste container on the door while working---it will Tip Over--and cause major mess

i will check again but i did get in there and vacuum it. the toner ends up on the back side of the blade and smears on the itb. which then causes the quick gradation test to make everything light. but during normal prints it will clear up.

the little smudging issue and the magenta being slightly to low.

Make sure the ITB underside metal plates are clean

That flexible scraper on rail gets bent, causes issues.

I would change the entire cleaning unit, not just the blade

the whole unit as in the metal casing around the blade. not just the blade itself?

i did take the lower metal cover off of the itb but i was not looking for this issue at the time. but i did clean it. looked in good condition.

yes----because the cleaning cover rubber strip gets bent / gaps--that causes waste to drop
