Canon IRA C2225 Red Streak While Scanning Through Doc. Feeder

Hi Guys!
Customer said there is a red sripe on copies when she feeds throgh the doc. feeder only sometimes...I went there and ran several with no problem BUT then there was the streak only this time it was green!
Has anyone ever seen this?

how old are your drums and is it only when using the feeder try running a few from the glass drums on this machines have a lot of problems and they don't last long

Slit glass needs a good cleaning, sometimes a suspect bit of dust may be picked up by the scanner as a color as opposed to a traditional black line. Clean the slit glass, even remove it and wipe on both sides, then perform the DF WL adjustments.

Exactly correct. Dirty slit glass could be red, green, blue always in color but black copy would be black line. I try and train every customer to clean that glass. They seem to think it is copier problem not their dirty office and paper.

Often been to customers complaining about lines after they 'cleaned' the glass. had to explain often softly wiping is not cleaning...

Canon Imagerunner Advanced 4225i

I was wondering does anyone know how to Shut Off this Message being Displayed on this Canon Ir 4225 Copier.: Clean Slit Glass) I cleaned the slitglass and the glass on the exposure lamps. I shut off the unit and the message goes away but,then returns. Doany know how to shut off this message?

Do you have lines on the copy ? Clean the glass. If not, clean the opposing roller and White strip on the bottom of the ADF lid. Spots make the msg come up too...

Strip & clean the CCD this unit has mirrors that get dusty. Plattern glass off then two screws, lift up the LED ass'y to gain access to the mirrors.

After cleaning run CCD adjust in service mode. (refer to the service manual)

the only time I've ever had color lines while scanning from feeder is when there's a little chip on the slit glass.
