    ir ADV C3330 fusing issue

On card stock or last run was full color on 28lb laser smooth. after about 20-25 double sided copies it stopped fusing correctly. I have replaced the fuser, increased the temp also the copier has less than 20k. Any ideas and or fixes would be appreciated

This does happen on Canon models, try setting the weight higher.

I trust you are using genuine toner?

Agreed... you might also try a different BRAND of paper. Some paper doesn't play with with fusers, and I've even seen "Air Pockets" develop on some papers.

If you are sure you are using genuine toner, then remove the fuser unit and manually pass a paper through. You do this by carefully inserting a copy paper. After, turn the gears to see if there is enough pressure between the upper and lower fuser rollers. Chances are the springs might have loose tension. Let us know there was a solution.

yes the toner is OEM its all we use in canon copiers. There have been two different types and weights of heavy paper. Thanks for the input.

Does the Advance series still let you monitor fusing temp in the analog tab of the service mode? If so, watch to see if paper is actually "draining down" the fusing temperature during the run you are having trouble with.

Some devices with fixing film will not properly fuse some kinds of paper, had a huge issue with this model back in the day. Customer had thousands of rough company letterhead and the new at the time ir 3300 would not run it no matter what. Fixing films have gotten better now, 20 yrs later. May not be a solution with that particular media.

I see a repetitive mark on side of page... measure the distance between marks and compare to defect ruler in the manual... frankly looks like it is in the fusing/fixing unit

setting to a thicker paper is not the answer I know that on a IRA c3525 you have set the temp higher for the specific weight of paper (not sure if the c3330 is the same ) it fixed my problem. the edges on my samples were flacking off like I see in your samples. the repeat marks are residual toner left on fuser rollers because lack of heat

Re: ir ADV C3330 fusing issue

                      good day all

paper weight does make a diff.hvy 3 runs slower then hvy1 and plain runs faster through fuser for the fusing prossess.

some card just doesnt work nice and gloss or semi gloss also a pain.

if you have tried paper weight and fuser temp you can also try sending paper A4R or in AMERICA its what LTRR. reduction
will run slower and fusing will be better.

again if mc runs well on plain and only having issue with card.

also what you can do is do a auto grad on hvy stock mode.does a better graduation and sets colours better.

problem can also be that colours are abit stronger so when areas are darker (more toner of all colours) fuser doesnt fuse properly

anoother way is to see what program user is using.if a PDF try change format and open in word and print.some programs also make image darker.

but im sure you wont have to go this far as to change users documents.
