[Misc] Need help with some projects with CLC 3220 with fiery X3e-01

Hello everyone,

i hope to get some help here. I am new in copymachines. My normal business is with repair and upgrade with computers and printers.
I got some CLC 3200 with fiery X3e-01 C1 machines from a friend.
I have some problems with some machines.
Some of the harddrives are very noisy in fiery and machines.
I also have a couple of questions, about the machines.
1. is it possible to expand the memory for reserve copies during warm up?
2. where can i get the newest firmware for fiery and machines
3. where i can get the software to replace hdds and install new systemsoftware?
and i am sure there are some more question during the time.

it would be great to find help here in the forum.

Firstly I would remove the fiery the machine will print without them (you will need to change a service mode setting after)

Upgrading the memory will make no difference in speeding up the copier.

If you want to keep the fiery & as the HDDs are working clone them to a new HDD (Very old 20GB IDE if I remember)

how can i clone the drive? with acronis?

is it possible to use any hdd , even a bigger one? does this speed up the system and the place for copy and printing big dokuments.
which kind of ram i can use? does i need service software for changing hdd to bigger one? or change amount of memory?

PS: i had read that there is need a service support tool and software system disk for doing some work.

I need the fiery because oft postscript. i also had read that in other case a network boot rom must installed in the machine , when using without the fiery.

Yes a program like Acronis will do the job.

Fitting a larger HDD or more ram won't speed up the copier at all.

The HDD has a set number of partitions so fitting a larger drive it will still use the same small partitions.

You can use a postscript driver to print without the fiery.

I can't remember if the fiery CLC 3220 model has the N boot rom as standard, if not then you're right keep the fiery.

That should have said will makes NO difference!

I can supply you with everything you need to reinstall the fiery should you choose to replace the HDD.

for me is still not clear where the data is stored when i reseve copies during warming up?

i also wish to update all machines and fiery to the newest aviable firmware and change the harddrives to newer one.

ok in the meanwhile i clone the fiery harddrive with acronis with sector by sector. the old hdd was 20 gb the new one 40gb.. system seems to start up normally, but was not found during ip scan...

any idea what was wrong?

OK so you cloned the 20GB to 40GB & the fiery is booting up OK?

They are slow to connect this may have been your initial issue.

The copies will be scanned to the copier HDD during warmup then printed and released once the copier is 'in a ready state'

how can i check if fiery is booted up? leds went from red to green and off.... i will try again with cloned hdd and wait more time...
cloning finished ok.. i cloned over making an image, direct cloning not working wiht acronis. acronis want make always a GPT partition so i go over make image and recover it to new hdd with sector by sector.

You can't, usually 20GB is plenty for most users.

How many pages are you planning to scan in one go?

at the moment if i remember right i can scan around 10 pages, but not sure. ... my plan was to scan up to 50 pages if it is possible...

with the cloned hdd , the system not appears on the network... diag leds are off.

maybe i need to use system software to initalize a new harddisk from beginning. not cloning the old one...
