IR3245i 010A jam code PS4A reversal sensor at beginning of job

This customer uses tray 1 most of the time. I have replaced the feed & sep rollers for all trays as they were needed. But the call came back.
I have checked the idler rollers in the paper path for binding and they all seem fine to me. I have also cleaned the paper path rollers.
The last thing I did, last Saturday, was empty the paper from tray one and set up tray 2 as the default. I was thinking to eliminate tray one
    as the problem.
One sheet would stop up by the top of the path. Naturally it does not do it when I'm there. And the customer sez it's always at the beginning
of the print job. And these jobs are coming to the machine via their computer.

Any body have a problem like this?

Remove the reg sensor rubber pad, these go sticky with age & prevent the arm returning home, usually first copy/print of the day.

Also the pads on the 2 gates on the door as well as the pad by the flags in the 3 way unit.

        copier tech and Brian,
Thank for the fast reply. I forget about those little things. I have run across that a couple of times on Canon machines.
I will definitely check out those pads.

        Thanks

Keep in mind that if problems keep happening esp if using the optional fax output tray on the right side...our office has had to change the whole 3 way unit to stop it. I have seen someone take it all apart trying to repair it. Not worth it then or now.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

Sorry to be so long in posting the fix for this problem. Copier tech and Brian gave me the solution. It was those little
sponge rubber pads behind the diverter. If it sits over night they stick just long enough to send the page down the
wrong paper path. So it never got into the duplex path. After the first clearing it would work fine all day.
I removed both of those pads on the back of the black diverter at the top of duplex path. It would not
send the first page of the day into the turn over section for the duplex path.

Thank you so much for the reminder of the little things in older machines that look OK, but cause problems after 12 years or so.
