    iR advanced 6870i copy quality

Originally there were lines on prints. I replaced the drum and cleaned ITB with air and that made it worse. Creating voids where the lives were plus smearing. I have since replaced the ITB.and ITB cleaner. I noticed it's worae when I went to replace the developer unit. I have an LSU ordered now. Any other suggestions?

Stop a copy mid cycle and inspect the drum unit and the ITB to find out where it is actually happening. Looks like something is blocking the laser or the LSU is faulty. Need to isolate the culprit.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

You should never clean with air or did you mean with a vacuum cleaner?

Did you check/clean/replace corona wires before you replaced really expensive parts?

Don’t forget the grid and drum cleaning blade.

I would check fuser unit to see if customer left part of the page inside or someone ran labels through before it started doing those smears

The issues are present on the ITB

Looks like the drum cleaning blade is part of the drum unit. Not sure what a grid is.

I did use a can of air as there was toner built up at the ITB cleaning assy. I removed the ITB and took it outside. The solid lines turned into voids after that and it has steadily gotten worse with the smears even though I have replaced both parts, the ITB and ITB cleaning assy.

Sounds like your ITB cleaner the discharge port is plugged where it discharges to the WTB.

After you have done a copy, Is there a deposit on the ITB?

Something slides across the ITB belt and erases the image. Stop the machine when the coating is on the belt and inspect it.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
