Canon irC3080i blue stripes and toner everywhere

    Hi everbody,

I have a Canon printer which is printing blue stripes after printing for a while. First pages are perfect but after 10-20 pages it starts to make more and more blue lines on every page. If I interrupt the printing and it restarts everything continues to be good.
Also there is blue toner inside the printer everywhere, replaced the blue drum with a used one (worked perfect on the other printer) but the problem is still there.

    Any ideas for troubleshooting?

    Thanks, Rzep

Are you using original Canon Toner? What is the life count on the developer units and drums?

Yes always been using original Canon Toner since I owned it, bought the printer 4-5 years ago.

      Drums (PT-DR-Y/M/C) show 156k (326%), which is quite a lot I guess.

Printer is working very good, just the issue with the blue toner. After reading in the forum I have been quite sure the drum unit should be replaced, but as I mentioned the problem occurs anyways. The printer looks like if the blue drum is just getting way too much toner and so it starts getting everywhere.

How does the ITB unit look ? it should be clean after you have turned the device back on before printing anything.

Most of the ITB unit is clean, just blue lines on the sides, but the first prints for each run don´t have any blue lines.

Your Drum Units are way over life. The blue line on the edge of the ITB shows that the cleaning blade has gotten old and stiff so it cannot clean the toner off the drum. Replace the drum units.

Personally I wouldn't waste any money on this old machine.

Thanks also. For me it´s a very nice and cheap printer as I get loads of original Toner cartridges for very small money.
