Canon IRC2880 fuser

I have a machine that keeps tearing the fuser film? any ideas.

Ahoy Copybhoy,

These fuser films are a pain in the ar--, one way round is to add about 2mm to the lead edge and back off the fuser pressure a couple of turns. I know a lot of engineers tell you to leave it to spec but experience sometimes outweighs the rules and this is one of those times. We have had this problem since the machine came out and tried all sorts of mods but this work around seems to do the trick.
Why do Canon persist with these films, probably because they make money from selling replacement units.
