ok im working on an IR 5065 and i keep getting an e005 error which is the fixing web. the web is fine only halfway through its life. i cleared both meters, did an error clear. the sensor is activating like it should be. if i pull the fixing drawer out i can power the machine up completely then once i shut it i get the error again. i thought it might have been the dc controller so i replaced that and im still getting the same thing. when i first went to the machine it had paper jammed up inside one of the plugs for the fixing drawer. i removed all the paper and inspected the plug, all the pins are there and still in place so i dont think it would be that. anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this or have run into this before. ive spent to much time and money on this machine now i want my next try to fix it.

fixxed it. dont know exactly what it was but i took apart the fixing assembly and found alot of metal dust on the wires so i vaccumed that up and replaced the pressure roller and bearings, and the fuser roller, bushings, and bearings. and that fixxed it. im going to assume that there was metal dust in one of the connections, shorting it out. -

You mentioned the paper scrap in the mating connectors between the fixing/feeder frame and the rear mech plate. I have seen the pins get bent from this. Old fashioned spark chasing may need to be performed between the PS45 sensor and the J128 connector on the DC Controller Board. Also in the I/O Display mode of Service Mode, P-Con, P002, bit 12, displays the state of the web length sensor PS45. Somewhere in this information is the solution to your problem."Once a King, always a King, but once a Knight is enough!"
