Try doing a quick auto grad adjust. If that doesnt snap it back then youll need service. Most likely the itb is slipping or the lasers are out of adj. Also a DC controller clear has fixed this for me.

I would put money on having to disassemble the itb and clean the drive rollers and inside of the belt.

    Good luck

To add to what 11x17 had to offer, there are the 3 gears that drive the ITB asm, and quite often there is some play in those. It takes very little to get the affect into the copier, and then it seems to remember this offset for the rest of whatever. The best test print to view this effect I have found is #31. All the lines should line up neatly in a row, and when the colors are misregistered, it really shows up on this pattern.

      FU3-0266-040 Gear on ITB
      FU3-0546-000 Single gear in cluster
      FG6-9662-000 Swing gear cluster asm

When you clean out the ITB asm, besure to wipe down the inside of the belt, as well as washing the 3 rollers with alcohol.

        Charger,
The new style gears on the ITB are black. You may also want to check
the front to back tightness of the drive rollers. Shims may be added to
        reduce the "free play".
It is my understanding, and I may be incorrect, that if the miss registration
is off left to right as the page exits, it is probably a dirty ITB assy, a
sloppy gear or roller free play.
If it is off front to back the laser cams may be in the wrong position.

Most likey its the lasers. If you clear DC, which I recommend not if you are not a tech!. But, if you do and the problem disappears, you can eliminate the ITB being the problem. If the problem comes back, most likey it will be the lasers. Make sure the machine firmware is up to date with the latest and greatest software.

Depending on the condition of your ITB belt, a simple cleaning behind the belt of the drive rollers and a wiping of the inside of the belt might work. If you keep your drums in longer than thier life they will leak toner that will end up behind the belt causing it to slip. If that does not work, print the P-Print and then do a DC-Con clear and re-enter all changed values both level 1 and 2.

                Charger,
I have a tech letter on this problem. But have no idea on how to post it
on the board. PM me with your email and I will send it to you. It has
helped me address this problem in the past.

                See Ya
