Hi Penelope, I don't work on the ir color machines myself, but I understand the 3200 series is supposed to be a good machine. the monthly recommended volume is 5-30K copies. The monthly maximum should not exceed 50,000 copies. It is a full color machine. The ITB and transfer rollers (works with image formation) needs to be replaced about every 300,000 copies and the fuser parts run in the 100,000 copy range. So as you can see at a million it has been thru some servicing. If it has been serviced properly it should still be a decent machine. I hope this helps with your decision.
Canon irc3100n where is the counter?

by the way: buying too big means you buy a machine that does 100,000 a month and you only need 2,000. or it does 5,000 and you only need 200. it is overkill and you can go smaller. yields are the copies you get out of the toner and drum. Think of it like a car. you buy a high performance car but it sits for long periods. It probably won't run as well as it should and you end up tuning it up more often then you might otherwise. Hope this makes sense. Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Thank you - that is concise and clear. I am going to sleep on it and, as the seller is not too far away, go and 'eyeball' him. If I don't get a good feeling I shall walk away. What you say will help my decision. Have decided NOT to get the 3100 whatever happens. Regards, Penelope"If you don't look at what you did before, you do the same shit all over"

One more thing. I just spoke with the manager of our color team and he said the machine is a "tank". and if it was cared for he would have no problem with a 3200 with one million copies. Is the glass half full or half empty? Thanks for looking at my site. A bit out of date I'm afraid. I am working on something new - still using the same method of working. This is why I want my own copier so that I can have my hands on 'the means of production'. I'm fed up with having to rely on the mood of a guy or guy-ess behind the copy shop counter!
Thanks again for your manager's input. I am warming to this machine.

Thanks 20yrs for qualifying my comments.
Sorry Penelope. After 20+ years myself it doesn't sound like lingo to me anymore. Just the language of copiers... =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

That's ok Blackcat, we all have our 'in' talk. Love your cat and whiskers thing by the way.
To all - It is crunch-time I go to meet the guy and make my final final decision.
Wish me luck!

To everyone who has been helping and following - I went for the ir3100c. I just hope I made the right decision. Thinking of the 'buying too big' and that expensive car sitting in my driveway asking to be taken out regularly. Anyway, on my own head be it!
One more thing you can help me with guys before I sign off. Do I absolutely HAVE to pay for a user manual? I think I mentioned the poor artist thing before.
Can't seem to find anyone who might share their pdf. Any ideas?
Kind regards, and I will be back!! Penelope"If you don't look at what you did before, you do the same shit all over"
