    Canon IR 210 lift

Been too long since I worked on this box.
Lower lift plate locked up and I can't remember how to make it drop.
I know it is simple but I am having another Mucking Funday.
    Help.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

There's a white button on the surface of the PF unit that you can access through the front of the cassette port that will drop the lift plate. Usually there's more to it though. Stripped ratchets, broken springs, etc. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You can remove the screws from the front side of the paper feed asm, that would be the left side of the asm as you are facing the right hand side of the copier. Pull the asm towards you at the front a bit and the lift gears should disengage from each other.

If that fails, just pull the entire feed asm out...

      good luck
