u must have the IEEE1284 parallel port cable or parallel to USB then u can start downloading it to the machine. for further info u can read the manual if u have one, or u download it at ultimate_sacrifice's link Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire
or u can do clone disk from other similar machine's HDD (this one i got from m43l up there, thank u brother ), which is i think it's easier way compared using SST.

Try this first>>
A function similar to 'HD-Check (0)' of service mode has been added on latest version of BOOT ROM flash upgrades.
To execute this mode, hold down the '1' and '9' keys on the keypad for approximately 6-8 seconds. A flashing block will show in the top left corner of the LCD. Normally, 'HD-Check' lasts about 15-20 minutes, and ends if no fault is encountered or specific sectors have automatically been repaired bringing up DOWNLOAD MODE on the LCD. DO NOT STOP ONCE STARTED.
In certain cases,"HD-Check" can take longer than 15-20 minutes and sometimes the machine can hang in this mode and will never complete.

USB-Parallel cable (FY9-4368-000) supports Windows Vista with Service Support Tool (SST) v4.22 or above.

USB-Parallel cable (FY9-4154-000) does not support Windows Vista regardless of the version of SST.

Hello Guys,

I'm from Malaysia..currently i'm doing Ricoh copier in my country which involve servicing and repairing. Compare to all of you, i'm still consider as a newbie in this industry.Start on 2008 until now.

Recently we try to do Canon which is far more technical and complicated (FOR ME :-)). We start with Canon ir3300 and sell it to the customer. For a moment it seems working fine but until last week, the machine got stuck with error code 602-003 which i referring to the service manual "hard disk problem").

I have the Canon SST version 4.22e and the CD containing the Canon ir2200 firmware. I know that this is the compatible firmware for the Canon ir3300.

And my humble question is where do i start after installing the Canon SST and loading the firmware into the SST and solving the problem. Is the SST ver 4.22e compatible with Canon ir3300?

I'm hoping that any of you can guide me

does not make a difference if u have a finisher or not when u update firmware on those models/

Finisher requires a special downloader tool to upgrade on these models

oopss.. sorry, forgot to add the type, they're canon IR3300 which is similar firmware with IR2200N (ithink), and IR3300i which similar with IR2200iN (i think,..again) and both are with english language. i dont know if the 3300 one that has internal finisher will need different firmware from the one that dont have internal finisher.

so where i can get the firmware? anyone can help me? all i can get is HOW to install, but not the WHAT to be installed.
i feel like a lousy leecher, but it's so desperate to realize that the easier way to install it is go to nearest service center which is 300 miles from here.
