Canon CLC 3220 won't print, Fiery Issue

    Hello,

I'm having problems with a fiery unit. It doesn't respond to ping, but when i disable the fiery unit and set the IP manualy on the printer it responds to ping but also not printing. So the cable is ok.
When the fiery is enabled, all it sais is " Check the power source of the print server behind the unit.. ". Obviously i checked that .
The thing is, how can i rewrite the fiery unit?Anyone?

    Thank you

You need the firmware DVD's in order to reload that information back on the HDD.

      "Check the power source"

As for the message. Make sure that the fiery is connected properly. Two, the fiery communicates with the machine so this also must be set up properly in service mode. After these two steps you must set up the fiery using RUN SETUP. Do not set up the machine's IP address.. As a matter of fact if you are able to set up a IP on the machine then this means that your interface settings for communication between fiery and machine are not set up properly!
There are a few more things that can cause more issues like this but I would go back to the basics.

      Which fiery do you have?

        fiery unit

the thing is that i tried to make it work without fiery, and it won't print; pings, but when i send the file for printing gives me a printing error.
        Checked the cables
Checked the power source... will not work. The fiery unit is running, i can hear the coolers.
I don't know the model of the fiery... all it says on it is 128 mb Canon
The problem is that one moment was working and the next day it didn't.
I'm worried that some of my coleagues were sloppy and didn't shut down the printer properly. This might be the case? What can be done?

Thank you all for the help, it's much appreciated.

In short, you cannot print directly to the 3220 if it was setup to print with the C1 or C2. Here is why:
A network bootrom needs to be installed in a 3220 to get it to print by itself. When a fiery is attached to the rear of the copier to be used as a printserver, the copier has to have the network bootrom removed, and a plain copier bootrom installed. With the plain bootrom in it, as you have in yours, the only thing the ethernet port is used for is to load system software to the copier. It cannot print. So you can set it up to be pinged, but it will never print till the network bootrom is installed. Your issue is with the C1 - C2. At a bare minimum, you will likely have to reimage the hard drive with the fiery system software. That is where I would start!

I must say incase you need to reload firmware Its crucial that you know which imagepass you have!

            Serial Number Prefix :
            K or JFNxxxxx- ImagePass C1 v1.0
            JXLxxxxx- ImagePass C1 v2.0
            SXExxxxx- ImagePass C2

What ever the serial # starts with that the one you have.

                the X3e-01 is a C1 controller
I have never seen one with that serial number though

In the fifth foto, you can see, that the fiery is stuck in the config mode. There will be no way around to reinstall the System Software. And, btw, you should open the Fiery, blow out the Dust and check, if the PCU Fan is where it belongs and spinning; sometimes the holders get broken and the Fan falls off, resulting in overheat of the PCU and stopping the Fiery.
