Finisher Cannot Be Used/ is that the exact message ?? if so is the Staple function grayed out ??
or is it say Limited Functions ?? Did u check the dip switches on finisher controller like i said !!!!!
what error codes are listed ???

Must do a MMI clear in service mode and power cycling the machine removed the message

Did you register the finisher in service mode? You must do this on 7105's. Copier, option, acc. This is used to set the order in which accessories are connected thru ARCNETconnection. If it just has a finisher, you should see it on this screen. Make sure it is assigned 01. Also make sure you have the terminator installed at the ARCNET connection at the finisher.

there is one thing comes to my mind, regarding the data connection between the host mashine and the finisher. The data connection is a thinnet, also known as rg58. this is an koaxial cable which needs to be correctly terminated at the ends, so you must not connect the cable directly, instead you must use a t-connector and put a terminate resistor at each end. just an idea, because your description sounds like data mismatch.

Ps.: Canuck seems to have the same idea just 7 minutes before me

With all due respect, I must correct you both Canuck, Herrmann.
If the finisher is not set up under ACCPST-D and the value for ACC is 0 there would not be a finisher cannot be used message. The machine will know nothing about the finisher being connected. The finisher is recognized by the main unit thats how it knows the finisher cannot be used. Therefore ACCPST-D is set up correctly with its appropriate value. I mention this in my last post above.

?????With just the finisher attached it will be in top position,ACC1. If machine had, say, stacker also,it would be at ACC1 at the top and finisher is at ACC2. Must be entered in order of connection(see manual). I do agree if the finisher doesn't appear on ACCPST-D screen, yeah, paper will crash. Value for ACC is 0?Huh? Bottom line....if it appears in ACCPST-D it knows there is a finisher. Ive replaced fuse pcb for this before. I understand what you mean,Screwtape
