ir2870 stops printing

Having a ir2870 stop printing when a fax comes in. Cust. has to power off machine to be able to print again.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Weird one. Can you elaborate more.
how does the fax disable all functions?
Are they any E-codes, Any messages indicating an error.
Have you checked system monitor to see if those print jobs
that don't come out are log in print monitor. If so check the error details #xxxx.

I would try re-installing latest firmware.

Couple of things to check/confirm... if toner saving option is set to stop printing faxes when toner is low, this will shut you down. These machines are also known for giving false low toner messages. Also, machines can be deadly slow to update control panel screens when a fax comes in. Have had customers complain and replacing control panels/upgrading software did not help. Also, please confirm if machine actually prints fax out or if incoming fax actually gets stuck and machine locks up. Good luck. Please post results.
