ir1023 - Unable to get to Webinterface

I am having an issue getting to a customers UI on their ir1023. I tried Mozilla firefox and it worked for a few minutes and then just timed out like Internet Explorer(Http 400 bad request) error comes back on IE.

I checke to make sure the Remote UI feature was turned on and rebooted the copier a few times, and still same result.

Has anyone had an experience with this. I was scanning through the Canon Esupport site, and still have not found anything yet.

The customer said they have had this issue for almost a year, so we updated firmware and still not avial.

Set the RUI to On, under Additional Functions, System Settings, Remote UI. (make sure that HTTP is also enable and no IP address ranges are set for HTTP access)

Correct version of RUI firmware must be flashed onto the copier. A specific version of the RUI firmware is required for each individual version of system software.

Flash the copier with the correct version of RUI firmware. with User Support Tool

Be sure to enable HTTP and RUI on the copier.
Be sure to enable "Dedicated Port" on the copier.

Type in IP address of the imageRUNNER in the browser address bar.

When one of the Dept. ID, SDL, or SSO authentication functions is enabled on the copier the RUI is also restricted to authorized users

MEAP Enabled Devices, please make sure that the proper MEAP version in Service Mode/Copier/Display/Version is also installed. If everything fails, perform a Clear MMI. Also note that on MEAP enabled devices, USE HTTP under TCP/IP Settings and USE HTTP under MEAP Settings must be ON.

Thanks folks, I will test these out. I was going to do a wipe and reset to bring back to factory defaults, but I will do all suggestions as well.

A clean install of complete system software package should resolve it...

Have you tried pinging the 1023 to verified that your network connection is okay? Just a thought.

Yes the copier has responded to pings, and it prints out just fine.

The problem is the webinterface does not come up in IE. It works for a few seconds on Firefox, but then it also loses it afterwards.

We are going to do an update first and move from there.

Thanks for all those who have helped.

Have you connected directly to the 1023 with a laptop.

I am also having this problem, and the customer can not scan. Print works fine. Will try to upgrade today and see what happens.

Haha, loaded software v.63.01 with SSt 4.23.
                    Everything was going as planned.
Powered of and on the machine and it bricked!
Dont know what went wrong but now i probably need to replace the image processor PCB.

                      Sucks to be you!
Before you upgraded, was the machine working, besides the scanning issue.
Do you have the earlier firmware you upgraded from. Try downgrading to see if its the firmware.

This model has procedures u need to follow when upgrading FIRMWARE from, different Versions60/63/65.
if not followed u will have issues.

if u revert to an older Ver.follow>
On Ver.60.03 u need to follow this first:
                        Upgrade Procedures:
                        1. [1] Using the Service Support Tool, upgrade the BootROM to ver.60.03
Note: Before using System Software v60.03, make sure to install the BootROM ver.60.03 first.
                        2. Make sure to turn OFF and ON the main power between each download.
                        3. Using Service Support Tool, install System Software ver.60.03.
                        4. Turn off and on the device power.

Upgrading When the Optional ROM is installed:
When installing the following option, the optional ROM (32MB) included in the package must be installed.
Installation of the optional ROM enables the controller to operate on the firmware of the optional ROM.
Therefore, when installing the optional ROM, be sure to check the versions of the main controller, Boot ROM,
and optional ROM, and when the versions do not match, upgrade the version using the Service Support Tool to
                        match them.
Options in which the optional ROM is included in the package:
                        - PCL Printer Kit-M1
                        Importing/Exporting User Data
                        - If using service mode (SSSW>SYSTEM SW>SW03), connect the USB cable.
                        - If using the RUI (set initial settings>import/export), connect the network cable.

Make sure the NETWORK settings are shown in the Users Data List + in SPEC REPORT it should list NETWORK ON

If not make sure the interface connectors are seated firm between LAN BOARD and the Main Board
