We have had mystery trouble sending with these units. Sometimes it will transmit and sometimes it will not when sending to the same # (not a busy signal). Code #0018. We put a Sharp FO-DC535 in as a loaner and they have zero trouble with it. Any possible settings we can change? This is not the first time we have had TX trouble with these machines.

customer can install the Dual line option which allows the fax to have a connection to to phone lines.
You then could setup one line that is used for sending only. the second is used for receiving only. Just give the other clients the receiving line phone #

This machine has dual lines which were causing other TX problems (before we switched to 'manual mode' for TX and specified Line1). We are 99% sure it is only dialing out on Line1 now (line 2 is not hooked up). Still we have these TX errors #0018, but on the transaction list all of the logs read '1' in the mode column (before we switched it off we were also getting errors with '2' in the mode column for 2nd line failure). Will try to slow down the transmission speed and turn off ECM, but would rather not have to.Comment

I had #0018 codes and Mr.fixit (and KenB in a PM) gave me the fix for it.

I checked Mr.Fixit's words of wisdom, and wise they are but we already turned off the other unused line (I actually recalled reading his post a while back and that memory led me to turn off the second line already)...but Thank You all for the replies so far. P.S: they only have one line available to hook up to the machine at this time.Comment

Have you set the T0 timer higher? Service mode-> #3 Numeric Para-> 10. 5500 is default, 9900 is max. Setting this timer higher gives the other fax longer to answer before timing out.
The other thing you can try is turn up the DB in Service mode-> #2Menu-> 07. I believe this is an inverse setting, 10 is default, 8 would actually turn up the volume to max, 15 is lowest. This is adjusting the volume of the modem. Like talking louder above any static.Comment
