    iR5000

When i used CST 4 (8.5 X 13),the paper jam at the upper right door. The vertical path roller is OK as well as the sensor. But when i used CST 3 same size of paper the machine works fine. No jamming.
    The jam code is 0323.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

a 0323 jam code is not listed anywhere in the book. One thing that might be happening is tray 4 on an IR-5000 is fixed for a certain size usually 11x17. Where tray 3 can be moved to fit other standard sizes and your 8.5x13 paper is close enough to legal where the machine is letting it run without any issues.
If other paper is running fine from tray 4 I would just run it from tray 3 and be done with it. If you need to change the paper size for tray you have to go into service mode and adjust it there.
copier>option>user>P-SZ-C4 and change it to 21 for legal.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Is legal 8 1/2" x 14" close enough to avoid jamming? Does it display 8 1/2" x 13" or 8 1/2 x 14"? I had to address this issue on a Sharp AR-M455N but in reverse. It was jamming, sure, but the machine displayed 8 1/2" x 13", when legal paper was installed and auto-detected. I'm sure that it's different on the Canon, but on the Sharp there has a user modes setting to select either 13" or 14" auto-detection. On the Sharp one of the machine defaults had been changed on just that model. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Mostly in iR5000 tray 4 is for 11 X 17. But you can also adjust it for other size of paper. I done this in my other machines here in my area. Mostly i used tray 4 for 8.5 X 13 paper and it works fine.

It doesn't display as 8.5 X 13 when you look at in panel board. It display as FLSC.

              You have cassette 4 set for 24 FOOLSCAP (more precisely Foolscap Folio) which is 1/2 of 17 x 13 1/2, or 8 1/2" x 13 1/2".
I believe the setting that you want is 35 FOLIO (more precisely Brazilian Folio or Oficio II) which is 8 1/2" x 13".
