    Canon pc7 extra copies

    Hi,
Got this PC7 i am working on. I know it is old but giving it to a friend that services my van. It makes the 1st copy ok and stops. If you make another copy it will make that one and start another but the reg will be about and inch off. The manual tray works fine and has no skew. The bottom tray gets about a .100 skew sometimes more. Just looking for some oldtime tip to keep me from ripping this thing apart. If someone has a manual for this it would be nice. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Partially agree, partially disagree.

Yes the pickup clutch or rubber pad can cause this.
No, don't ever spray WD-40 into the clutches. It attacks any plastic parts and will melt it. Bad idea.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks Marc and Blackcat for the help. I took it apart tonight and the lower tray sol had the goo. Cleaned it up and it works fine. Still had a little skew and found it to be at the reg roller. Guess the roller and front bushing are shot. Made it better with upper spring tension. Rebuilt the cartridge and copies look great. Only thing i get and not going to worry about is about 1/2" erase on front of copy coming into exit tray. Again thanks for the help.

Also try squiring some WD-40 or any spay can type oil on the registration clutch & all round the general area? Try cleaning the reg roller with some WD-40 this brings the rubber up like new?

Do not start spraying WD-40 all around on any machine! Hows about a little dissassembly first - remove the clutch and for that matter anything that needs lubrication like bushings and such and then reinstall the part later. Good advice on the gummy noise suppression pad on the solenoid though.

why would u spray WD-40 on a clutch , it makes no sense / it is even worse to use on a one way clutch

many many years before. I had sold many reconditioned pc7 pc11 and np-1010 in Hong Kong, They could be used around 5 years under our maintenance, but now, They sleep under the sea.

WD40 has no use on spring driven clutches/ if u want to use it to clean spring that is ok !

a very small amt of light clear silicone lube is ok for spring cl's
most lubes turn a gummy black from friction & heat/

and never use any lube on any type of bushing / that black gummy gunk will stop a truck tire from rolling
