    iR5579 Jam Code 0210

I have an iR5570 intermittently throwing jam code 0210. This only happens with face down delivery. The paper goes down into the duplex but when it's supposed to feed back out there is a click sound and it all stops, showing the jam. The lead edge (previously the trail edge) is just about to actuate sensor PS47. It seems as if M14 hasn't reversed rotation. All sensors were checked and extra turns put on return springs. My feeling is motor M14 may be at fault but I'm not sure. The thing that has me stuffed is why would it show the code 0210 when the paper is nowhere near PS35 and visually inspecting that sensor shows it's not binding? Any ideas please, meanwhile I'm ordering M14

Just to make sure you are on the right path PS35 is the first sensor just after the fixing rollers. I have seen that jam code caused by the drive gear on the upper fixing roller, SL8 go bad or get sticky and burrs on the actuator of PS35. I have had other techs tell me that the flaps on the external delivery guide get out of place and can cause this type of jamming as well.
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

Make sure flag is sitting in correct position

also from old pub on Face Down issue below>>>>
the jamming occurred while performing face down delivery only.

        Solution :
It was noticed that the tabs located on the external delivery guide were flush with the delivery flapper. These tabs should be slightly raised above the delivery flapper. The tabs on the guide were successfully adjusted to correct the jamming in this instance. See photograph below illustrating the proper position of the tabs on the guide.

or Check & Refit the arm that is attached to the plunger of Reversing Flapper Solenoid SL8.

***Intermittent Clicking Noise and 0210 Jam Codes.
in fuser operation, it was found that the upper fixing roller drive gear was missing a tooth. The solution was to replace the upper fixing roller drive gear item 34, part number FU6-0736-000.

Try replacing the delivery rollers. If there is a slip(delay) in feeding, you will get that jamming problem. Good Luck! Usually it is always more mechanical than electrical.

Hi everyone and thanks for all your valuable input. Well.... it turns out it was the upper fuser roller and gears. When I looked at the machine previously I noticed the fuser roller was very slightly out of round at the front end. Couldn't imagine this would cause any kind of issue. Anyway along with ordering motor M14 I also ordered a new fixing roller, gears and clips. Once these were fitted it worked fine. Motor M14 was not used. So, there you have it. I will always now replace the fixing roller together with a set of gears and clips, just in case. Once again, thanks for all your help.
