u can use the FUT program -----FUT is designed so the customer can flash or upgrade the printer on there own.

There are two ways to upgrade the system software on the Large format printer.
One is using the FUT, Firmware Upgrade Tool and the other is using the L Printer Tool.
The FUT is designed so the customer can flash or upgrade the printer on there own.
The printer must be in normal operating conditions to use the FUT.
This article does not cover using the FUT to upgrade the printer.
The second method is using the L Printer Tool.
This is what the technicians can use when the printer is having problems.
The requirements for the L Printer Tool are:
1. The print driver must be installed on the PC or Laptop that is connected to the printer.
2. The FUT file must be downloaded and unzipped on the PC or Laptop that is connected to the printer.
3. The PC or Laptop needs to connect to the Printer, via the existing network configuration the customer is already using or a cross over Cat. 5 cable or a USB 2.0 cable.
Note: USB is simpler to use, (No TCP/IP configuration is needed).

To flash/upgrade system software on the Large format printers the FUT file for the model must be downloaded.
This FUT program contains the firmware to flash the printer.
The L Printer tool needs this firmware to flash the printer.

I have given up, I spent so much time on trying to get this thing to work.

I WILL AND ALL OTHERS SHOULD NOT BUY ANY CANON PRODUCTS ANYMORE.

SUPPORT IS LIKE SH........

Should anybody been able to get any good idea please let me know. I may be willing to try again sometimes.

That was a short good news.

The file which has been downloaded from Canon USA is the "imagePROGRAF Firmware Update Tool" and when starting it up it also can not find the printer

Some good news for today,
I just had my son leaving in L.A. downloading the software from Canon USA.

Apparently this files are locked from the outside of the USA.


I'm currently transfering it from L.A. I will keep you posted!

Yes I did already consult the link you showed in your message from RobotNZ1 and I even had tried to contact him over without success as well. He was also the one initialyon his thread speaking with you on page one (Current Thread)

That would be great if we could get thi com-fut tool from RobotNZ1!

I also tried again the link to canon USA also without success. When I clik on the download button nothing happens.

now I remember that poster form down-under
funny thing about the L Printer Tool - it says supports ALL iPF and W Series/then below is does not list the W7200
