[CQ] line across copy on clc5151

when using A3 size heavy card (250gsm) on heavy 2 setting i get a band across the copy always in the same place. The band is 225mm from leading edge. it does not show on A4 copies or 100gsm stock. if the copy is stopped halfway through it does not show on the itb belt.
    Can anyone help?

      250gsm,

I think thats two heavy for that machine.

I mean you can still feed it but it would kill your parts.

If this is the kind of media your gonna run on this machine, good luck.

I'm betting its the Upper Heat Roller pawl marks. On the Sharp & KM color boxes I've worked on over the years, heavy media always has a band across it from the very small mark the pawl makes on the heat roller. Its always in the same spot, and never shows on lighter media, just like you have said.

Place the page with the line/band on it against the fuser rollers and check if it lines up.

Appologies to you Canon guys. I know very little on these machines, and am only assuming this box has upper roller pawls.

I know what band/line you are talking about now. Of course..... derr!

He's using heavy paper in a plain paper tray. My machines do the same band across the page when someone uses that wrong configuration.

Correct tray setting/media should sort that issue out.

Paper is coming from bypass tray using heavy 2 setting.
on my original post i did say heavy 2 setting and this is only available from bypass tray.
also paper is within spec for bypass (max 253gsm)
will try to get copy scanned in.

all papers listed at 250gsm are not the same. u have texture, content, grain cut, quality,>>>on & on & on.
make sure it is not for inkjet machines

just because Canon says u can use that weight in bypass , it is not meant for mega printing

                      This machine is business color.

Its not intended for print shops, or heavy coverage.
