There was an old Ricoh color chart with a full body photo of a young lady in a bikini on it. Later (I presume for PC reasons), it was reduced to an above-the-waist shot, then above-the-neck.

I believe I still have a hard copy somewhere of the second edition. Just a neat piece of Ricoh memorabilia.

I carry test charts, but haven't used a test chart for many years.
i have been lucky to get away with using TEST PRINTS only.

                    Re: Test charts

Having a good, old fashioned test chart in your toolkit has its benefits.
It's quite faster and easier for a quick and dirty functional test when image quality has been established, or isn't a concern.
More importantly, test copies should always be made, lest you unknowingly walk away from a machine with a scanner issue...
                    Doh!

I agree , and I know that, but in 30 years I cannot remember having more than 2 scanner issues.
I will start using a test sheet when I have my next scanner issue

Most MFD's you can print via USB drive, so I carry a usb keyring with a few test charts on it, some photos, & also full page Y,M,C,K jpeg's very useful.

Also the most common service bulletins, especially the ones that are customer relevant, e.g poorly quality or poorly loaded paper etc etc I can then print these off & pin them above the copier!!!
